The Samurai Game® is an intensive experiential programme in which participants temporarily step into the role of samurai and encounter choices, commitments, uncertainty, pressure, setbacks and consequences through play. The day begins with somatic movement and embodied preparation, followed by the Game itself and a profound debrief and integration of the experience. Rather than teaching participants how to become samurai, the Game uses the samurai role as a frame through which patterns from professional and personal life can be experienced and examined. Participants are invited to discover how they navigate difficult choices, recover and move forward, honour their commitments, recognise their reactions under pressure and act beyond familiar limits. No martial arts experience is required. This rare public edition is open to anyone interested in embodied learning, self-awareness, personal development and decision-making. The Game will be facilitated by Lawrence Warry, a certified Samurai Game® Facilitator, Aikikai sixth-dan aikido teacher and founder of Shinyu Leadership and Shinyu Aikido. Lawrence was originally certified as a Samurai Game® Facilitator in 2013 and successfully completed the latest facilitator recertification programme in October 2025. Over the course of his work as a facilitator, he has accumulated extensive experience delivering the Game in public, organisational and leadership-development settings. His track record includes more than 25 Games officially recorded on SamuraiGame.org, as well as additional private and organisational editions. Lawrence has facilitated internationally in the Netherlands, Ukraine, Switzerland, Russia, England, Jordan and Bali, including programmes involving professional communities and organisations such as PwC, QBE, Vision-Box, the Embodiment Facilitators Course and the 2Gether Partnership. This extensive experience allows Lawrence to hold the intensity of the Game while supporting participants in transforming what happens during play into meaningful insight for their professional and personal lives.
